May 9, 2008 - My mom used to drive me when I cried :( maybe you could try that??? My cousin had a lot of gas problems and she would cry unless you rubbed her back -- then she would stop. All babies are different. Sometimes you have to let them cry tho :( sometimes. Especially if it is for your own sanity. <3 Happy Mother's Day!

May 9, 2008 - Aw, Jen, I'm so sorry! As your doctor if you are allowed to give her "gripe water" they sell it near pedialyte and formula and stuff. Also try mylacon in her bottles. Also, if you are breast feeding, try cutting out dairy for awhile and see if you see a difference. The comment about the pacifier is good too, plus I recommend pacifiers for all moms and dads because it drastically cuts the risk of SIDS. I was always upset when evan wouldn't take one.

May 9, 2008 - also if your nursing and eating foods like tomatos (acidic) cauliflour, broccoli (carcinogens = gassy) or Coffee can cause upset babies and upset tummies

May 9, 2008 - Colin has always gone back to sleep when I rub his back in a circular motion and go ssssssshhhhhhhhhhh. Sometimes it takes 10 minutes, but it works.
bratgirl4life2001 Says:
May 9, 2008 - We live in Washington state, it rains all the time. What I did was take walks indoors either in my home or I walked around grocery stores. This might have worked better because I wore him in a front pack for walks, so I could "walk" anywhere and get the same effect. He liked hearing my heart beat, so I wore him most of the time even doing housework because it was easier to get anything done with him on me instead of having to stop every 5 minutes see why he is crying.

May 9, 2008 - My oldest girl did the same thing. Nothing ever did really work. She started when she was 4 weeks and it stopped by 6 months and she was a very good baby after that. I just asked a lot of people for help. Adult friends would sit with her while I took a walk. I had nieces who would entertainer her and distract her while she laid in her crib. When I was overwhelmed, I had several different friends I could go to and we would take turns holding her. That usually happened in the evening. TAKE CARE!

May 10, 2008 - Jenluv, This may sound strange, but my cousin's baby was the same way. For 3 months, the baby would cry anytime it was awake. They went to a chiropractor and gave the baby a small, gentle neck and back adjustment and immediately the baby stopped crying. My cousin says it was like someone turned off the pain switch. Perhaps the baby is in pain like my cousin's and when sitting in the stroller while taking a walk, she feels better because of how she is sitting.

May 10, 2008 - Oh I didn't know that Andrea, that pacifiers reduces the risk of SIDS. How interesting! I'll have to keep that in mind if I have kids one day!My aunt and uncle just had a baby in feb. I'll have to let them know about that!
grapessss Says:
May 10, 2008 - try lots of touching and massaging
eyelovemec Says:
May 10, 2008 - what about a warm bath? you and the baby together...
iiswansongii Says:
May 10, 2008 - The first thing I thought of while watching this was you could try what I did for my son that worked for a while...I played the radio for him. I'd turn on the radio very low by his crib, and turn it on a classic rock station and he seemed to like that :D I'll post if I think of any more. If you'd rather not have Lynard Skynard in her ear at 2 in the morning, you could try buying a cd of soothing lullaby music and put on 'repeat'. :D
msgg81 Says:
May 10, 2008 - ask Andrea or Mugglesam ... they are experts in this sector
mythreeguys Says:
May 10, 2008 - Yes, Evan hated his pacifier and wouldn't take it. It isn't saying of course that if you don't use them SIDS is imminent, but they think that for some babies who stop breathing for a moment in their sleep, the urge to suck on the paci wakes them up. Evan hated the paci because he always wanted to smile and it just fell out when he would smile.
Panpiper Says:
May 10, 2008 - Ear plugs. ;-)Can you tell I'm not a mom?
alv9980 Says:
May 10, 2008 - Oh girl, I feel for you. I can see the desperation in your eyes. The only thing I can think of right now is that maybe she has a tummy ache. Mylicon (sp?) drops are really good for tummy aches for infants.
thornekatt Says:
May 11, 2008 - Try taking her for a car ride. It always worked for me.
Elphyrafire Says:
May 11, 2008 - Jen, I am so serious when I say this: this book saved my life with my son Jack. "Happiest Baby on the Block." It's a simple technique- the 5'S's -swaddle, suck, swing, shhhh, side. There is an order to do it in and you have to swaddle the crap out of her so she's like a board (get daddy to do it, they are more ruthless). And the other weird thing: download some bagpipe music and blast it. Jack fell asleep with it. It sounds like a hum they hear in the womb. GL! It stops eventually!
Littlemamma123here Says:
May 11, 2008 - Mamma of five says try...."OVAL" it works, try it and let m know!
ohbernadine Says:
May 11, 2008 - have you tried the battery operated swing? also fix her a bottle of milk with a tablespoon of rice cereal. if that doesn't help put her car seat on the dryer with lila strapped in while your drying clothes. maybe you should send her back where she came from !!! lol. she is a beautiful baby, grandmom of 13.
Ardenwolfe Says:
May 12, 2008 - Booze. Jack Daniels with water in the bottle. Mama sweared by it.Wolfe

May 14, 2008 - LOL Jen, Wish I could tell ya, both of mine did the same thing, and heres the kicker, sorry to say, Uhmmm for ONE WHOLE YEAR!
motherofderno Says:
May 14, 2008 - New momma Jen this is fairly common. Try everything. For me, the swing worked great in the first weeks. After that I would strap my child onto the front of me and run the vaccuum cleaner. Be sure to rest when Lila does, even for 10 minutes. You have an active child and it's going to be FUN when she gets over this!
Marydecor8 Says:
May 15, 2008 - My fussy baby is now 21. When she was an infant, I would fill the kitchen sink with warm water and put one of those baby sponge beds in and lay her in there. The warm water really relaxed her and I would rub baby oil on her feet and give her a little baby massage. I think they just get worked up and can't relax. It sure worked for her. Neither of my kids used the pacifier. They develope an emotional dependence on it if everytime they get upset you stuff it in their mouth. Good Luck
UchihaRubyStar Says:
May 24, 2008 - :P my parents told me i cried alot wen i was a baby.. :)) don't worry, i'm sure she'll stop crying that loud..and i agree with thornekatt...i always get sleepy wen i go for a car ride.:)
