READ THIS FIRST!!!Summer 1995... While Harry is sitting alone in a park at the end of Magnolia Crescent, he is suddenly attacked by Death Eaters. Harry is injured in the brief battle but an intervention due the arrival of Lupin and Moody saves Harry's life...The injuries render Harry comatose who is promptly transferred to 12 Grimmauld Place in London. On revival Harry is found to be suffering from Amnesia.Memawhile, Dumbledore tries to convince Fudge that Voldemort has returned and it was time to act but Fudge refuses to believe in what he calls Dumbledore's "figment of imagination". This causes a rift between the two men. Fudge further believes that the standard of education at Hogwarts is declining since Dumbledore is aging. So he instates his undersecretary, Dolores Jane Umbridge as the new Defense against the Dark Arts teacher as well as Hogwarts High Inquisitor.Umbridge, meanwhile, refuses to teach the students practical magic so Hermione Granger, Harry's best friend formulates a plan to form a student's organization where interested students could learn practical magic and Ron and Hermione could also help Harry with four years of his coursework since students were supposed to appear their "O.W.L" exams in their fifth year.Harry still retains some of his former talents eg: he is able to handle his Firebolt with 100% expertise much to Tonks' delight. During his Christmas holidays, Harry encounters two dementors who are hunting for Sirius Black but he is able to defend himself with a powerful stag patronus much to his own surprise.On Dumbledore's request Snape also attempts to cure Harry, though he uses mind-penetration magic...which definitely cures amnesia fast but erroneous handling could lead to the brain being damaged causing a person to go into a vegetative state or die. Sirius Black, his godfather, however, takes an approach which is slower but safer...taking Harry to familiar places so that Harry could remember.Under the influence of Voldemort's Imperius curse, Umbridge falsely accuses Dumbledore of conspiracy against the ministry. Fudge having grown increasingly distrustful of Dumbledore attempts to have him arrested but Dumbledore escapes and goes on the run while Umbridge takes over his post.Harry's connection with Voldemort reaveals that the Dark Lord is looking for a powerful magical object called "The Prophecy" to use it as some sort of a weapon to "clear his way". Although ignorant of the fact that Voldemort is in fact aiming to destroy Harry to "clear his way", Harry realizes that "The Prophecy" in the hands of Voldemort spelled disaster. Harry and his friends raid the Department of Mysteries to retrieve "The Prophecy". It is here that Harry realizes that "The Prophecy" is actually about himself and Voldemort. While trying to escape, the youngsters are ambushed by the Death Eaters. Just when everything starts to look hopeless, members of the Order of the Phoenix arrive to their aid. During the battle the prophecy is destroyed and Bellatrix Lestrange kills Sirius Black.In a last ditch attempt, Voldemort attempts to possess Harry. Harry fights back and not only succeeds in expelling Voldemort from within himself but also regains his memory. Dumbledore arrives at the ministry followed by Fudge and a squad of Aurors. All of them see Voldemort. Realizing that he has been exposed Voldemort escapes.Dumbledore tells Harry that the Prophecy was actually a prediction that Harry was the one with the power to destroy the Dark Lord. Although pained by the loss of his godfather Harry is now ready to continue his battle against Voldemort....Harry Potter will return in "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince".
