Greetings, I am Headmaster Abraham Hardy, founder & Headmaster instructor of the Hacomtaewresdo warrior arts. I am also the founder of the Hacomtaewresdo Combat Arts & Urban Combatives Association (HCW-CAUCA). The Hacomtaewresdo Warrior Arts ( HCW Arts ) are Hybrid systems of martial arts comming from skills passed down through the fighting tradition of my family, skills I gained trhrough experiences in fighting, and things formally learned. What makes systems and sciences "war" arts is that their goal is street self defense and functional combatives, as well as self cultivation to unify the mind, body, and spirit. The HCW Arts are not based on or around fighting style(s)but rather combat science and concepts. New concepts and knowledge of other systems is always incorporated, but not in haphazard or non progressive fashion. It is done in a progressive manner of which anything new is filtered through our overall general concepts (foundation)and placed into it's proper category. If it does not fit, it is not incorporated. Physical techniques are incorporated by classification of fighting method, then range. Fighting methods in the HCW arts are Hybrid style(some call mixed martial arts),Self Defense, Kickboxing, Submission grappling, and Weapons.This makes sense being that these systems development was fostered in fighting in / for an urban enviornment. The fighting ranges in the HCW arts are striking (long, mid and close range), clinch fighting, standing grappling, and groundfighting. Once new techniques and concepts are filtered through this system, they are broken down and infused with current techniques and concepts. This enhances and updates existing techniques as it progressively intergrates new ones. Techniques and concepts also are not randomly drawn from anywhere. Starting with the current foundation, HCW arts branch outward drawing from arts with similar technique and concepts continously. This broadens the arts while staying true to it's roots of being "war" oriented. Going beyond the martial aspects, fitness is incorporated as a very important facet because it not only builds a strong, healthy body and enhances warrior skills, but it is good for you period.Good fitness brings too many benifits to be ignored. From Shaka Zulu and the Zulu Impi warriors of South Africa to Alexander the great and the Greek soliders, warriors of ancient times who trained for combat, included some form fitness as a componet of warrior preperation. Plus the warrior sees the body as a temple and fitness as a way of maintainning this temple. Fitness for the HCW arts comes from the Hardy Combat Fitness System which is a fitness system I invented for martial artists and combat atheletes, based on my background in martial arts and fitness and is reglarly updated. Next, is warrior philosophy comming from the Universal Belief and Warrior Philosophy System of which I founded. It is a important facet because it teaches correct tenets, attiude, mindset, spirit, and knowledge which leads to wisdom and enlightenment. It teaches how a true warrior should strive to carry themself and also takes their physical skills to a level that cannot be reached through physical effort alone. Lastly is knowledge of warrior philosophy and culture. In better understanding the warriors and cultures that came before us, their battles, and skills, we can unlock that power within ourselves. We also learn RESPECT for them by this study, as it is imparted cause we follow the methods they laid forth. All these facets cover mind, body, and spirit. When you bring these three things together ( the triangle of power ) you reach the highest level of being. In time, a goal of the HCW-CAUCA is to have affiliated martial arts schools throught the United States, Africa, Europe and Asia.
